Janet is an artist living and working in East Sussex. She completed a Foundation course at Manchester College of Art and Design but decided to opt for English at university, first at Lancaster where she obtained a BA (Hons) then at Warwick where she graduated with a Masters in English Literature. After working as a journalist in London she gave up her full time career to raise four children and eventually become a teacher, specialising in children with dyslexia.
On retirement she resumed her fledgling art career from her garden studio. Her subject matter is wide and varied, ranging from landscapes to figurative work, still life to portraits. She works mainly in oils, deriving inspiration from the natural world, man made constructs and day to day experiences.
In the last few years she has been selected to exhibit at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and has many different paintings in private collections.
